Christie Iwanicki

Christie Iwanicki, a freshman guard from Newtown, Conn., was named as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week on Monday after averaging eight points, six rebounds and two steals in a pair of outings for the Rams.  Iwanicki came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points in Suffolk’s 66-55 victory over defending league champion Emmanuel, as the Rams posted their first-ever win in 33 series meetings between the two schools and in the process ended the Saints’ 24-game conference regular season winning streak that dated back to February 2006.
