Parking is limited at the University, and we encourage all employees to use public transportation. Our Transit Program allows employees to purchase a monthly transit pass for the MBTA and other carriers, on a pre-tax basis. Employees may also pay for off-site parking at MBTA garages or other public garages in Boston on a pre-tax basis. Before you decide to drive, be sure you know your options for Public Transportation, Car Pooling, and Biking to work.
The University maintains two parking garages; one in Sargent Hall at 120 Tremont Street, and one in the Rosalie K. Stahl Center at 73 Tremont Street.
The Sargent Hall garage is a self-parking facility which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Stahl Center garage is an attended facility which is open Monday – Friday, 6:00 am to 8:00 pm; Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm and Sunday 8:00 am – 2:00 pm. Vehicles in the Stahl Center garage at closing time are placed outside on Tremont Place. Keys for cars parked on Tremont Place may be picked up at the security desk in the lobby of the Stahl Center. Parking spaces are allocated through an annual parking contract.
back to top^Parking spaces are rented to employees on an annual basis (July 1 – June 30) for a monthly fee. The monthly fee for the year beginning July 1, 2009 is $360 in Sargent Hall and $340 in the Stahl Center. The monthly fee is set by the University annually prior to July 1. The fee is deducted from the employee’s pay check. A portion of the fee is pre-tax. Employees must maintain the parking contract for the entire year.
Annual rental contracts for parking spaces for motorcycles, mopeds, scooters, and similar motorized vehicles are available in Sargent Hall for $90 a month.
Each spring, there is an annual enrollment period for available spaces in both garages. Spaces in Sargent Hall are allocated to Law School employees first and then to other employees. Spaces in the Stahl Center are available to all employees. If there are more requests for spaces than spaces available, parking contracts are issued on a seniority basis. Those who request, but do not receive a space, are placed on a waiting list for the next available space.
Employees who have been issued handicapped license placards will be given priority for an annual parking contract in the Stahl Center garage during the normal enrollment period.
More information about the annual parking contract is available from Edwin Dillaby at edillaby@suffolk.edu.
There are numerous garages nearby. Some offer limited savings to Suffolk employees. A list of these garages and rates can be found by clicking on the follwing link to the Area Parking Facilities page.
